Oral health enters the wider NCD data picture
WHO has updated the oral health module of its STEPwise approach to noncommunicable disease risk factor surveillance. The streamlined questionnaire and brief clinical assessment are designed to help countries collect policy-relevant oral health data alongside information on other NCDs and shared risk factors—even when survey teams do not include oral health specialists.
Better integration begins with visibility. When oral diseases are measured within broader NCD surveillance, they become easier to include in prevention strategies, health-system planning and accountability.Read the WHO update ↗
